Septic drain field

Septic drain field

A septic drain field is designed to spread partially treated effluent over a larger area. The effluent is first treated in the septic tank. A septic tank must connect to a septic drain field if a suitable watercourse cannot be located for discharge.

WHAT DOES A SEPTIC DRAIN FIELD DO?

Once effluent has been treated by a septic tank and runs into the septic drain field a system of underground irrigation pipes allow the effluent to percolate into the soil. The soil has to be suitable for this purpose so we would do a percolation test before beginning an installation.
